The Panasonic WV-NW484S is a high performance network dome camera contained in a vandal resistant enclosure capable of withstanding significant shock and vibration. This level of durability makes it an excellent choice for use in prisons, construction sites, sports stadiums, schools and similar applications where the camera might be at risk from intentional or accidental damage.

Simultaneous MPEG-4 & JPEG Streaming

Video is captured simultaneously in both the MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compression formats. This gives a user the necessary control over how data is distributed over a network. In practical terms it means that a user can, for example, view live images in the high resolution M-JPEG mode and at the same time record images to a server over the network in the fast and low bandwidth MPEG-4 format.

Anti-Shock Auto Back Focus (ABF)

Panasonic's innovative ABF system ensures that the camera is properly focused at all times especially when the camera switches from color to B/W mode, which can be a vulnerable moment due to the shifting of the IR cut filter.

Electrolysis De-Humidification Device

An EDD device ensures an unobstructed camera view by continuously discharging and preventing any moisture from building up inside the dome during temperature changes.

Super Dynamic III

SDIII along with 128x dynamic range ensure crystal clear images in difficult lighting situations such as areas with a high contrast of bright and dark and harsh back-lit conditions. SDIII will also reduce the intensity of a vehicle's headlights at night, allowing a user to identify a car's occupants as well as read its license plates.

Day/Night Function

To insure the best possible image quality day or night, this camera uses an IR cut filter to auto switch from high resolution color during the day to an ultra sensitive B/W mode when light levels fall. Switching between color and B/W modes can also be done manually.

Scene Change Detection

The camera is able to detect and sound an alarm when it senses tampering such as the lens being covered or spray-painted.

Image Stabilization

A built-in image stabilization system will auto correct shaky images, allowing the camera to be installed in areas prone to high frequency vibration such as train stations, highway overpasses or airport hubs.

Digital Motion Detection

A built in motion detector will activate an alarm when movement is sensed. This alarm can also be used to trigger a DVR or other devices.

PoE (Power over Ethernet)

When used together with a POE injector, a single Ethernet cable can be used to supply both data and power to the camera. This greatly simplifies the installation process, allowing the camera to be placed in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet. PoE will also keep the camera operating in the event of a power failure.
